Born in 1898 in Sweden, Nils Thorsson started an apprenticeship aged 13 at the Aluminia Factory in Copenhagen, graduating from the Royal Danish Academy in 1917. He was Artistic director at Royal Copenhagen from 1949 while also artistic director of Alumina also from 1928-1969.
He designed the BACA Series with a complex and detailed pattern. The dish is square with round corners and has striking blue and purple tones. It is marked Royal Copenhagen Denmark, Fajance, 704/2883. With Nils Thorsson Signature.
